Niddrie

Niddrie - Essendon West is an established residential area about 13km North West of Melbourne. The population increased from the mid 1990s, especially in the Willowtree Crescent area, and now about 5,000 people call this modest suburb home.

The Niddrie Shopping Centre (located on Keilor Road) is very popular with locals and visitors alike, as people from the surrounding suburbs take advantage of its numerous retail stores, cafes, restaurants, bookstores and everything in between. Its main commercial area is located along Niddrie Road for public services and other amenities. Niddrie has scores of beautiful parklands along the Maribyrnong River and a number of schools. The 59 tram and several bus routes service Niddrie, and its proximity to the Tullamarine Freeway, Calder Highway and Mount Alexander Road mean it is easy to travel in and out of the area by car.
