Gowanbrae

Gowanbrae is a newly residential suburb built on formerly vacant land in the north-west corner of the City of Moreland, about 13 kilometres from Melbourne. Gowanbrae was subdivided in the late 1990s, and although the current population is under 2,000, growth is expected to burgeon as people discover this sought-after suburb.

This up-and-coming area is very close to Westfield Airport West shopping centre, so residents don’t have to travel far for shopping. There is quick and easy access to public transport as well as Melbourne Airport, the Tullamarine and Calder Freeways and the Western Ring Road. Good quality restaurants are a short trip away in Niddrie.

Moreland Council is funding the improvement of the facilities around Gowanbrae through an Open Space Plan. Re-vegetation of native flora species as well as the construction of new playgrounds and footpath links throughout the area is just some of the developments planned for this tight-knit, family-oriented community.
