Flemington/Travancore

Known for its beautiful tree-lined streets and quiet inner-city location, Flemington/Travancore is a unique suburb of Melbourne. This is an established residential area with some commercial areas along Racecourse Road and around the Newmarket railway station, but is expected to continue growing as more professionals come to this area.

The area has some beautiful Art Deco-influenced homes and apartments and many still stand today which gives Flemington/Travancore its unique architectural flavour. Highlights of the area include Flemington Racecourse, Kensington Village with its fantastic restaurants, cafes and coffee. Travancore Park, Debneys Park and Delhi Reserve along the Moonee Ponds Creek are popular for families, as is the cycling trail. Newmarket Plaza Shopping Centre is centrally located and has abundant parking space.

It is very close to the city, at only 6 km away from the CBD, and public transport is plentiful. trams, trains and buses are all conveniently close by, and many popular bars, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance.
